Video Dance “Transit” by Alejandra Jara 2010
Duration 2’50”
“Transit” explores places, countries, seasons, memories, vulnerability, and the body sensations that emerged from these situations. The whole idea about being in transit is never ending and is part is part of our lives. As individuals we are constantly changing and challenging ourselves in different ways. Experiencing different situations is part of our lives, and is what makes us who we are. As I will say: “It all depends on us, we are the creator of our lives; is our body and our choices.” In the same line, we choose our pathways.
My first video dance project at OSU
The current video is my first project at OSU for my Dance and Technology class. My goal was to interact with other fields. As a result, I worked with Carlos Duran, percussionist at OSU, who gave me his hands, spirit and music for this project. To be able to communicate through dance and share it is my goal.
Please feel free to give me comments, or suggestions about my first dance video.

Dianne McIntyre‘s Workshop Saturday workshop “Sound in Motion”. In this workshop we learned about the structures and techniques of Jazz music in order to explore new dimensions in choreography, improvisations, performance and dance/music collaborations. The 3 hour session was led by Dianne McIntyre, Michael Wall, and musicians from the Jazz Studies Department. The workshop was a pleasure, working with her and being able to fusion the energy between dancers and musicians was great.
